First Impressions
ERNIE Bot feels like a corporate assistant who read all the manuals. It opens with a polite, structured response. Qwen feels like a sharp intern who has seen a lot of code. Faster, less formal, more direct.

Speed and Feel
Qwen is noticeably faster. Responses appear almost instantly. ERNIE takes a beat longer, especially on complex queries. But ERNIE’s answers feel more carefully constructed. Qwen sometimes cuts corners.
Verdict
Pick ERNIE Bot if you need structured, reliable output for business writing, document analysis, or formal tasks. Pick Qwen if you want speed for coding, quick drafts, or casual conversation. For most daily work, I reach for ERNIE first. But when I need a fast fix in code, Qwen is my go-to.
Both are improving fast. Neither is perfect. But for my money, ERNIE Bot handles the boring, important stuff better. Qwen handles the quick, creative stuff better. Choose based on your pain point.
