I've been using Gamma for the past few months to create presentations and documents for client meetings and internal reports, and I have to say, it's a genuinely useful tool that delivers on its promise of reducing the time spent on formatting and layout. The core experience is straightforward: you give it a topic or a prompt, and it generates a complete document or slide deck with text, images, and a consistent design. What I appreciate most is that it doesn't just dump a wall of text; it structures the content into sections, bullet points, and visual elements automatically. For example, when I needed a deck on market trends, I typed in 'Q3 2024 SaaS market trends' and it gave me a 10-slide presentation with charts, key statistics, and a clean color scheme. The AI writing is decent—not Pulitzer-worthy, but clear and professional. I can edit any block of text directly, and the inline AI assistant helps rephrase, expand, or shorten content. The image generation is a bit hit-or-miss; sometimes it creates relevant diagrams, other times it gives generic stock photos. One of my favorite features is the ability to embed interactive elements like polls or embedded web pages, making it more than a static slide deck. It also exports to PDF, PPTX, or as a live link, which is great for sharing with clients who don't have the tool. The collaboration features are solid—multiple people can edit in real-time, and comments work like Google Docs. On the downside, the free tier is very limited (only a few AI credits), and the pricing can get steep if you need high-resolution exports or lots of credits. Also, the AI sometimes generates overly verbose text for slides, so I often need to trim it down. For someone who hates wrestling with PowerPoint templates, Gamma is a breath of fresh air, but it's not a replacement for deep design work—it's best for fast, decent-looking output. Overall, I'd recommend it for anyone who needs to produce presentations quickly without sacrificing too much quality, but be prepared to do some manual editing.
